【Equipment introduction】
The purpose of the high temperature burst test is to ensure that the quick connect element is able to meet the pressure requirements of the fuel oil system at the highest operating temperatures. This test can be performed as a part of SAE J2045 piping and hose assembly requirements, or as follows.
【Technical parameters】
a. For quick connect element used on liquid fuel systems, minimum burst pressure is 2000 kPa (290 psig)
b. For quick connect element used on steam/volatilization systems, minimum burst pressure is 138 kPa (20 psig)
Note: The burst test only tests for quick connectors, and leaking or cracking of the hose is not a failure. If the hose breaks below the minimum burst pressure, the test must be repeated after replacing the hose that can withstand higher pressures.
【Test methods】
a. Insert the quick connector into a pipe of length 500mm (19.69 in) or both ends of reinforced fuel oil pipe (5 pipes / quality inspection assembly). If necessary, each end can be tightened with a hose clamp to prevent poor contact of the connector handle.
b. Insert the male pipe end into the quick connect element.
c. Attaching the assembly to a pressure line that connects to a pneumatic or hydraulic burst pressure source.
d. The assembly is placed in a suitable chamber and heated at 115 ° C (239 ° F) for 1 h.
e. At a uniform rate of 7000 kPa/min (1000 psig/min), no fluctuating pressure is applied to the assembly until burst or crack.
